BARCAMP RETURNS TO HOUSTON THIS SUMMER

Houston , Texas . The second BarCampHouston, an informal, user-generated technology and social conference will be held at 10am on Saturday August 25th at the Houston Technology Center at 710 Pierce Street in Mid-Town. The overarching theme of a BarCamp is to promote knowledge and collaboration among like-minded technology community members. Anyone who has a technology topic or demonstration to present and has the desire to learn is welcome and invited to participate in barCamp. Last year, over 100+ web professionals, business people, members of the press and technology innovators met with great success at the Buddha Lounge for the first BarCamp Houston. A BarCamp conference is unlike any other technology conference. Rather than being planned by an elite committee months in advance, each individual community works together to create its own custom tailored event. .
Next Refresh Houston Meeting The Force Behind Star Wars: Turning Design Ideas into Reality Youve got an idea. Maybe its a new idea for a web application. Maybe its a new product idea you need to push through your organization. The question is: How do you turn an idea into reality? To answer this question, well look at the making of Star Wars. Well look behind the scenes at what it took to get George Lucass space fantasy from script to screen. From assembling the right team to navigating the Hollywood corporate studio environment to tapping into powerful universal patterns—speaker Stephen P. Anderson will present a dozen lessons UX designers (and developers!) can all learn from this adventure. Not adventurous enough? To sweeten the deal, Stephen will be raiding his garage to give away some great Star Wars prizes! When: February 19th - 6:30PM Where: The Stags Head Pub/Oak Room Refresh Manifesto Lets gather great minds Lets share...
